This unit aims to provide an introduction and overview of the multidisciplinary field of exercise and sports science. Students will cover foundational knowledge across the major sub-disciplines in the area namely, exercise physiology, biomechanics, exercise and sport psychology, motor learning and control, health promotion and the sociocultural dimensions of exercise and sport gaining an appreciation of how research informs professional practice. The unit will highlight the career pathways and opportunities within the exercise and sport profession.
